On October 22, the Alexandria City Council declared a climate emergency, recognizing that climate change poses a grave threat to everyone in Alexandria and around the world.
Current climate models show that changing global conditions will trend toward increased rainfall and rising seas in our area. The impacts of climate change on the RiverRenew tunnel system have been considered as part of the planning process to ensure the design is adaptable and resilient to future conditions. The performance of the proposed infrastructure under year 2100 climate conditions was analyzed and summarized in this informational flyer.
